VIKYNO 20” LCD TV Repaired
The complaint of this TV was no TV Channel Tuning (you can’t search for any TV channel) but can work on the VGA port. This means you can’t tune to any TV channel. Since other interface can work this clearly suggest that the tuner box and related circuit could be the problem.
This first thing to do is to check the DC supply voltage to the Tuner box. You need to power up the TV in order to check the DC supply with your voltmeter. From the test I found that the DC supply was zero volt. This is the cause of the no TV channel tuning problem.
I had to trace from the DC supply pin point and to see where the problem is. Finally I found a path that was broken-see the photo below.
Making a new path using wire solved the problem. I got about 31.1 Volt.
Look at the TV channel below:

Thank you Suranga for this LCD TV Tuner repair. Compared to the old CRT Television Sets so many new components can get defect. Luckily the Tuner was okay and no parts had to be replaced. LCD TV's of today also have a protection VDR over their Power Line Inputs. CRT TV's did not. My last LG or Philips (I forgot what model it was) LCD TV blew out this VDR with its input serial Fuse twice! After the second (230 Volt VDR) time the TV VDR and serial Fuse were replaced, (probably a slightly higher wattage type VDR) the TV and those parts kept working okay.

thanks for the info and congrats on the repair. in my country we do not use the antenna/tuner any more. we use satellite receivers and connect via RCA or Component, or HDMI inputs to get channels. that way we get better picture quality. some Old CRT TV sets are being used but we are talking about less than 1 percent of the people here unless they are tuned in for local tv stations in the area. these local tv station are about be closed down because nobody is watching them any more. everything is changing.

Hi, I'm just wondering if anybody might be able to help me diagnose an issue with my Bravia KLV-40S550A.
When the power button is pressed, you can hear the sound of (what I assume to be) a relay click, and the screen lights up,within 2 seconds off and the standby light just blinks red 8 times. What does error code imply?
How can I further diagnose the issue?

What have you done so far? Do you have an Isolation Transformer and are qualified to work on TV's?
If so, check the standby voltage and see if it is normal and steady.
Of course, if you work on your TV, you do so at your own risk. Be careful.
