A Dead Cement Vibrator Machine Brought Back to Life
A hardware store manager called me about a man who came to their shop to get a cement vibrator fixed but they do not do any kind of repair so they gave me a call about it.
The man showed up to my shop carrying an open vibrator
which what you see in the photo and the control board was separate in another bag (top plate not included).
That is the control board and I could see a switch (high/low) already soldered off board.
I checked every component on this board and find everything to be in good working conditions. Since everything checked fine on that board and the switch was already soldered off I am assuming that the switch was bad and needed replacement.
So I decided to replace that switch, install it back on board and see if it works or not and we go from there.
I did a quick check on that switch and found to be faulty because there was no continuity when checked with the multi meter and there was no clicking sound to it as it supposes to be.
I found a used switch in my shop but before I install it back on board, I opened it up and gave a clean to make sure it is functional and soldered it back on board.
I put the board back in its housing screwed it tight and then gave it a try. The device was vibrating softly because the top plate was given to me to test but that was a sign that the vibrator was up and running.
Summary: the shop gets the device, soldered the switch off but does not complete the repair so it was brought to me and I have exactly the same switch then when installed the machine worked perfectly.
