Pure Acoustic DVD Player Repaired. Model: YOO-11
A customer brought this machine and it had DVD, CD player and MP3 built in. It also has an iphone base. You can actually plug your phone in and play the music that is stored in your phone memory chip. It is an amazing machine but it has only one problem. The tray does not open. I could hear the motor spinning but it did not open.
From experience, this should be an easy fix and I think it only had to do with the motor belt broken. That was the obvious problem but to make sure, I had to open it and find out.
Yes, I was right, the motor belt that drives the machine tray in and out was broken and I replaced it. A new problem showed up in this machine. The tray now goes in, it loads the CD, the motor spins but it does not read the CD. It showed disk error on the machine screen display.
From experience, that is a problem in the pickup LED that reads the disk. There are only two solutions to this problem. Either change the whole pickup LED or recalibrate it. I usually prefer to change it but the customer did not want to pay extra money on it, so I had only one option to do, calibrate the pickup LED. Most of time it works but sometimes it does not. All I can do is to give it a try and see. So here is goes.
I had to take the whole tray out but keep it connected to the main board to see if it works out or not. Usually there is a screw under the pickup LED; you can see it in the photo below.
That controls the density of the pickup LED. Before you change any setting on the density screw, you need to mark that screen just in case it does not work so you can set it the way it was when the customer brought it in. Usually, I rotate the density screw just a little tiny move and then I tested it out. After a few tries, the machine started working again. It could read, DVD movies and music CD’s
It was an easy fix and was happy to see it come to life.

Hello sir, is it a CD player or DVD player? Because the optical pickup kss-213c is used for CD player. Its laser beam density is very low than ad-01, etc. Kss-213c could'n detect DVD disk. Please check your article. Thanks .......
