Concern About Technical Information

My concern is about technical information. It’s good to have test equipment and troubleshooting skills. But you must have a GOOD repair manual with schematics showing voltages and other information. Also, must have parts list. I can’t find any! So many transistors and diodes I see now are a mystery. They have no markings such as part number or manufacturer. You can sometimes get lucky without data, but most of the time you need it.
Some internet websites have a little information here and there, but t is not reliable for good repair information. The only REAL GOOD data I find is on TVs from old sets 25 or 30 years old. I need new literature. So, I would be interested in what you think about this and what you do for technical data for troubleshooting and repair. Electronic Repairers need to know more about this! It seems we need a e-book about that topic!

You are right. It depends on what type of equipment you are repairing. If the equipment are consumer electronics products then it would be easier to find. But there are time that no matter how hard you have try it, yet one still could not get the right schematic diagram or related information. You can either get it for free or buy them. For other specialize equipment that have less info one can use their own electronics repair knowledge to troubleshoot it because they can roughly know what type of voltage/signals they are expecting or they can use another same equipment for comparison purpose to find out the fault.
