Revisit Of Prestige Induction Cooker Model PIC 1.0 V2 After Four Years
This induction cooker (will be referred to as ‘IC’ for brevity) had come to me for repair for the first time in June, 2020.
Kindly see my article using the following link:
https://jestineyong.com/high-voltage-or-lightning-caused-pwm-ic-burst-in-prestige-induction-cooker/
I am skipping basic images and covering only what is relevant to the present case. Incidentally, this had visited me in June, 2022 for replacement of IGBT. (Failure was due to a power surge & there were no other defects!)
This time the complaint was switches not working properly and the on/off button was hard to press. I opened the IC and cleaned it thoroughly. It had collected a lot of dust and cockroach eggs. After that, I brought it to my table and applied power through a power cord which had crocodile clips and confirmed the complaint reported. Then replaced the press to on button switches straightaway.
We need to ensure that the button switches are of same type and the height of the button is exactly same without which it will either not function when pressed by the membrane key panel or it will remain pressed when fit. I am reproducing a few pictures for those who may not have the time to read the previous article:
As there was no dry solder or bad components on the board when checked, cleaned the control panel very well to remove residue of flux and applied power after fixing the control panel board back and found the IC working perfectly well. Took it to the kitchen as this had a 15A plug and I was not having a suitable socket in my bedroom converted service room.
Boiled a pot of water and found it working very well. Brought it back, fixed screws and cleaned the outer cabinet to the best possible extent. Mission accomplished very well and satisfaction had all the reasons to rush into the collection bag!

Excellent job in fixing these several times going out of order devices. Like often the television sets that revisit you. They always completely keep getting repaired no matter how hard cochroaches and other pests are trying to reclaim it back to nature!
In my country it are mainly the small silverfish or paperfish that mostly in the dark crawl out of their tiny cracks in walls and other places. Apparently the eggs of these 'fish'can hatch at 22 degrees Celsius and humidity of 33%. They develop optimally at 37˚C and 80% humidity a nymph moults 7 to 8 times. And I mostly succesfully 'catch' them by frying them with a portable gasburner of any wall while holding a small tub filled with some water under them to catch them and kill them afterwards! (because trying to catch them the normal way is hard because they are very fast!). They mainly eat paper or starch from potatos or similar and luckily do not harm electronic devices yet!

Thanks for your expert and elaborate comments and sharing detailed study on silverfish. We do have silverfish attacks in books and in a few other lurky places. It was real fun reading about how you catch the silverfishes! Will not the gas burner leave marks on the walls and other places, then? Anyhow, it was interesting reading especially being very different subject of pest control!

If we use the flame fast and only shortly it will not leave any black or burned spots on walls at all. I mostly just have to watch not to burn or ignite any easy fast burning material (like nylon clothes etc.) being targeted while trying to burn those creepy 'fish' from the wall (or floor too sometimes!).
And I always have a bucket with water standing by just in case for safety (including 4 firedetectors in most of my rooms). Also to water the plants in my apartment with warmer water when the tap water gets too cold in winter not to scare the plants too much.

It seems those press buttons didn't last long as they were also changed 2020 too, or is that their life span? I presume prestige brand is high quality brand.Well thanks for sharing sir.

Many users do not take trouble to keep the Induction Cooker tidy and clean. Cockroaches can damage any electronic circuit and I call them our agents for getting defective sets (LOL) Many thanks, dear Imoudu!

Yes, in these types of boards, it is better to replace all the button switches at a time to avoid return of the cooker soon! Thanks for your comments, dear friend!
